George Ammerlaan (25) is a Dutch sound designer and video editor based in Amsterdam.
From a young age, he’s been drawn to building worlds and weaving stories through image
and sound.
His creative journey began at the Prague Film School, where he completed an intensive
filmmaking course. It was there that his fascination with the interplay between sound and image truly took root, leading him to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Sound Design at the Netherlands Film Academy (Nederlandse Filmacademie).
Since then, George has worked on a wide range of projects as a sound professional, from short films like the award-winning Birdcage (2023), where he served as sound designer, to the animated short Cinder (2023), which he carefully crafted sounds for.
More recently, he worked as an assistant sound editor on the upcoming animated feature Miss Moxy, as well as on the Dutch Netflix hit series Voetbalouders (2025).
George’s passion for film and animation continues to grow with every project. He thrives on collaboration and is always searching for new ways to let stories sound as rich, honest, and alive as they feel..
