Claus Hanischdörfer

Claus gained his first journalistic experience at the SÜdwest- Presse after completing his training and industrial clerk. From 1990 to 1995, he studied “Audiovisual Media” at the Stuttagart Media University (Hochshuele der Medien). After earning his degree, her worked for four years as an editor at the SAT.1 regional studio in Baden-WÜrttemberg.

Since 2001, he has been working as an author and filmmaker for documentaries and reports, primarly for the broadcasters SWR/ARD, ZDF, and ARTE. His work has received multiple awards. The topics of his films are diverse, ranging from politically and socially relevant stories to investigative journalistic projects that expose grievances.

Beyond that, he is also repeatedly drawn to nature and especially to the mountains, where he tells dramatic, sensitive, and moving stories about people, their challenges, and their destinies.

Since 2005, Claus Hanischdörfer has worked for various SWR editorial departments and is currently part of the “Documentary” division of SWR. He lives in Stuttgart, Germany.
